About the role
You will work on the core of Backspin: the ledger, the transfer state machines and the connections to the Federal Reserve. Every change you ship touches real money, so we care as much about correctness and observability as we do about speed.
What you will do
- Design and build services for ACH, Fedwire and FedNow origination and returns.
- Own the double entry ledger that every account and card balance depends on.
- Improve reconciliation with our partner banks so breaks are caught in minutes, not days.
- Write clear design documents and review your teammates’ work.
What you bring
- Five or more years building backend systems in production.
- Experience with payments, banking or another domain where correctness matters.
- Comfort with TypeScript or Go, Postgres and event driven architectures.
- A habit of writing things down.
