Card programs on Backspin can now take part in every authorization decision in real time. When a card is swiped, tapped or used online, we send the request to your endpoint and wait for your answer before replying to the network.
Key highlights:
- Authorization webhooks: Receive merchant name, category code, amount and location for each attempt, and approve or decline with a single response.
- Spending rules: Set daily, monthly or per transaction limits on a card, a cardholder or a whole program, and block merchant categories in one call.
- Safe fallbacks: If your endpoint does not answer within the timeout, we apply the default rule you chose, so a slow deploy never strands a cardholder at the till.
- Decline reasons: Return a reason with each decline and we pass it to the dashboard and to your support team, so nobody has to guess why a card was refused.
Controls are available for both virtual and physical cards. Existing programs can switch them on per card, so you can roll out to a small group before turning them on everywhere.
